Before abrogating Art 370 & 35A , J&K state enjoyed special status and privileges . On August 5 2019, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah abrogated Art 370 and 35A . According to me this was the mega event of this year , superhit and blockbuster than any other Bollywood or Hollywood movies.
Now India remained with 28 States and 9 Union Territories. The Newly Union Territories are J&K and Ladakh. This year Modi government is unstoppable they have passed 11 Bills which includes Pocso Act , Triple Talaq , Labour wages and many more.

History Of Art 35 A and 370
The ruler of J&K Maharaja Hari Singh signed Instrument of Accession with India when J&K was attacked by invaders . The then Indian government provided military aid to J&K.
But , to unite with India it was key to sign Instrument of Merger . Suddenly , Hari Singh died before signing Instrument of Merger.
The then Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Sheikh Abdullah want J&K as an Indian State . So , Jawaharlal Nehru decided to grant special power to J&K
Modi government believe that to put an end to terrorism it was necessary to take such a big step.
